The Annual Club Camp 2025 will take place from 3rd to 10th May in Spain!
Club camp is a tradition Since 2016
What’s club camp?
Our annual club camp is a highlight of the year, offering a week of training, socialising, and fun abroad! 🏊♂️🚴♀️🏃♀️ Around 30 LFTC members join each year, staying in the same hotel for a true team atmosphere. The dates are communicated early in January, carefully chosen to avoid clashes with major races.
Club camp is the perfect way to meet new people, with roughly half the attendees being newcomers. You'll be part of a supportive mix of experienced triathletes and those new to the sport. Days are structured to balance training and relaxation. Typically, we start with an early morning swim, followed by breakfast, and then head out for a scenic bike ride. For the brave, there's even an optional run once we return! 🚴🏽♂️🏃🏽♀️ The cycling is no-drop, ensuring all levels are welcome and no one is left behind.
The week is organised by one or two club members, covering hotel accommodations, bike hire, breakfast, and transport to and from the airport. Members are responsible for booking their own flights based on a list of recommended options. With everyone staying in the same hotel, it's a great chance to connect, train, and make lifelong memories with your fellow LFTCers. 🌟
Whether you're looking to improve your fitness, prepare for the upcoming season, or simply have a good time with the club, the LFTC Club Camp is an unforgettable experience! ✈️🏖️
FAQs
-
The day usually starts with an early morning swim, followed by breakfast. Afterwards, we head out for a group bike ride, with some members opting for an additional run when we return. The training is for all levels, and we follow the rule of "no one left behind" on the bike rides.
-
The camp details (including dates and accommodation information) will be shared with club members in early January. Members will receive a link to pay a deposit to secure their spot. It’s first come, first served, and places tend to sell out quickly—usually within an hour! Please note that to book, you must have a current yearly membership (around £40). Members will need to book their flights and arrange transportation to the camp destination, while the camp itself, including hotel, bicycle hire, and breakfast, will be organized by the camp coordinators.
-
Yes, you can bring your own bike! If you have a bike box, feel free to bring it along. If you choose to bring your own bike, you’ll receive a reduced price since you won’t need to hire a bike. Just let the camp coordinators know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
-
Training is designed for all levels, so there are no restrictions—whether you’re an elite athlete or just starting out, everyone can join in! The rides are paced to ensure no one gets left behind, and everyone can go at their own pace.
-
Breakfast is included and served at the hotel, so you can fuel up for a day of adventure. Some members even get creative and craft their own sandwiches using breakfast leftovers.
-
Lunch is never included – why? Because most of us are out cycling during the day! Don’t worry, though – we'll make sure you're well-fed, and if you’re craving a snack, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to grab something during your free time.
For dinner, we usually have meals together at the hotel, and depending on the size of the hotel, dinner may be included. This decision is made by the camp organizers on a one-off basis. If all dinners are included, we'll communicate that well in advance.
-
Yes, there are plenty of opportunities to socialize! The camp is as much about making new friends and having fun as it is about training. Expect group dinners, social outings, and plenty of opportunities to bond with other members.
-
Yes! The camp is designed for all levels, so if you're not fully comfortable with one of the disciplines, there will be support, and the training will be tailored to suit your ability. Everyone can join in and progress at their own pace.
-
You’ll be responsible for booking your flights, but we provide a list of recommended flights for members. We also arrange transport from the airport to the camp hotel.
-
The camp is primarily for club members, and as it always sells out quickly, we unfortunately cannot guarantee space for non-members. However, if your friend is a club member, they are welcome to join you! Just make sure to check with the organizers for availability.
-
You’re welcome to join for as many days as you like! However, we encourage members to participate for the full week to get the most out of the experience.
-
Absolutely! Members often organize smaller training trips throughout the year. A popular destination is La Santa in the Canary Islands during the off-season. There are also other opportunities where members connect and arrange their own camps. Keep an eye on Discord and the newsletter to stay in the loop! 🌴🚴♂️🏊♀️
